Sciencepalooza!

Ashlynn, Amy and Kyle from the Solar Suitcase Team
On Saturday, Ashlynn, Amy and Kyle from the Solar Suitcase Team and I attended Sciencepalooza at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. The exhibition hall was filled with about 200 exhibits detailing science and engineering experiments, investigations and projects.

Two students who developed a
navigation aid for the visually impaired.
It consists of 2 sensors, a camera and
computer software, and is meant to be worn.
The user gets messages through the
headphones such as: "people 5 feet ahead",
"obstacle 10 feet, ahead" and "rough terrain ahead

Here I am, trying out the navigation assistance device.

The exhibits ranged from theoretical to practical to humorous, to original to ridiculous!
